European 4-in-1 weave with a twist

This class will be a bracelet in the European 4-in-1 weave with a twist the large center ring and focal bead. The length can either be finished in a 2-in-2 chain (the aluminum one) or continued out in the European 4-in-one in 3 ring wide width. (the copper one.) It\\\\\\\'s a fun bracelet to wear and mine gets many comments.

Turkish Bead Crochet

Like the look of the classic bead crochet ropes, but having problems with regular bead crochet? Come learn a variation of bead crochet that resembles the spiral stitch, but is easier than traditional bead crochet. This class is a technique class and you can use the resulting rope to make a bracelet, necklace or lariat. These ropes will become the backbone for many of your jewelry projects. You will see several different options for finishing your piece.

Enchanted Lily

This stunning double-layered flower features six petals woven with an interesting herringbone variation in three shaded colors of Japanese seed beads and cylinder beads. The conical center is woven in herringbone, decreasing as it rises, then expanding into a six-pointed netted center surrounding an Austrian Swarovski crystal. The beadwork loop behind one petal allows the flower to be worn on a necklace or as a brooch. The necklace rope is twisted herringbone, in an interesting shaded pattern, ending with a loop and star-shaped toggle, echoing the lily\\\'s center.

EMPRESSA WEAVE

While \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Empressa\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" looks similar to the Helm weave it is put together differently. This is a weave that has lots of movement from the side rings and if you put beads on it, it becomes more eye catching not only with the color from the beads but with added movement of the beads. It always receives compliments. Come join us for a fun class, your kit will include enough rings for a bracelet, a pair of earrings and short pendant as shown.

Oriental Ball

The Oriental Ball is considered a beginning weave using the European weave. We will be making the Ball in class in 18 gauge rings which is the middle size ball. The medium and small balls are great for pendants, earrings, zipper pulls, key chain decorations, purse decorations, a great decoration in the middle of gift package bows or ornaments for a miniature Christmas tree. Come join us for a chainmaille project that is fun and different.

‘Heirloom Driven’

All throughout history Jewelry has served as an Heirloom. For those of you who love this idea, here’s a project for you. This bracelet/pendant/beaded bead was created with gift giving in mind. The bracelet consists of several components and can be woven in just one day! Because of this, the piece lends itself very well to commemorate a special occasion or event. European 4-in-1 Weave

The European 4-in1 weave is the same weave that most of the European knights wore as their chainmaille armor in medieval times. Karen likes this weave when it is snug yet still flexible and has a slinky, fabric like feel. To give the bracelet we will make in class a tighter weave we will be adding an edging of smaller rings of jewelers brass. Earrings will be of the same weave with the outside edge rings also in jewelers brass.

Marquis Mystery Bracelet

This is an elegant bracelet of bejeweled marquis that are individually woven and then assembled together to create a beautiful cuff bracelet. Stitches used to create this piece are one needle techniques of Right Angle Weave and variations of it, as well as flat spiral stitch. You must be comfortable with Right Angle Weave stitch.

Sweet Little Treasures

Five Moves to Wire Almost Anything

Master the basic elements used in a variety wire links. There are several basic shapes that are used in making most wire jewelry. They are used alone for some elements and in combination for others. Master the basics and you can use them in numerous variations and combinations; everything from links, connectors and dangles to ear wires. Working with various gauges of wire, we will review five basic shapes and consider how to use each one to make several different links or elements. When you have completed the basics, several combination links will be reviewed. You will be encouraged to think like a wire artist and improvise; making up your own link designs by combining the elements you have learned. As we work with the shapes you will begin to design a bracelet, necklace or earrings – follow the samples or make your own creation.

Timepiece Talisman

With a nod to the Steampunk genre this design uses a pocket watch works as a focal point and warm, brass colored metals and hardware. Learn to capture a vintage timepiece in wire; then embellish the face of the watch with wire, beads and findings. Create a unique necklace to enhance your focal with more beads, found objects, hardware and chain. Design elements, options and ideas will be discussed: symmetrical or not; embellished or spare; all tied together with color, metals in matte and shiny finishes and a sense of movement. Your personalized timepiece talisman will transport you like a time machine where ever your imagination may wander. Sounds unlikely, just too much time talk, then time out - simply enjoy wearing your design in this time zone.

Parallel weave... (Only 4 spots left!)

In this class we will be doing the Helm or Parallel weave. It is a 2-2 chain made with 2 ring sizes with rings added that do not actually thread through other rings but instead are trapped between other rings. We will be making a bracelet from 18 gauge rings as well as a pair of straight drop earrings and you will have enough rings to also make a round pendant. This weave is very pretty if made from two colors such as aluminum large rings and gold colored (jewelers brass) small connecting rings. Class Size is Limited to 8 Students

Chainmaille Butterfly Weave (SOLD OUT)

Zara\\\'s Rope Necklace

Meet Zara – she likes classic clothes but likes to add a little glam with her accessories. I agreed to make her a necklace. Zara, of course, wanted me to use only pearls and semi-precious stones - she is that kind of girl! She also loves long necklaces that she can wrap around her neck many times, just a few times or wear long. This necklace is 54 inches in length - a rope is a necklace that is longer than 45 inches. You can make yours any length you desire. Knotramé is a combination of knotting and macramé utilizing silk (Zara would settle for nothing less). You can knotramé any combination of pearls, semi-precious stones, contemporary or vintage glass, crystals and/or seed beads for your necklace. As always, the choice should be guided by color and shape. Come join in the fun making this exquisite necklace that has become a staple in Zara’s wardrobe.

WIRE WRAPPED SPHERE

Tickle the Throat Choker

Tantrum Cascade Necklace

The Ionic Polyhedra form a theoretically infinite set of different beaded beads with frames woven in seed beads. We call these “ionic” because the framing resembles the form of ancient ionic columns. The pattern gives detailed instructions for the Ionic Cube and Ionic Octahedron. We also explain more generally how to weave icosahedrons and tetrahedrons, and how to generalize the method to many other polyhedral forms to make more than a dozen different beaded beads.

Casading Leaves

Instructor: Leslie Frazier

Level: All

Students will learn a new variation of Ndebele/herringbone stitch, as they weave up to five sizes of leaves, from the smallest, just over an inch, to the largest two-inch leaf. They are tapered at the tip, and very three-dimensional. The leaves will be attached as the lariat is woven, creating a graceful leaf fringe at each end. The netted lariat features hundreds of 3mm faceted firepolished beads and drapes beautifully, irresistible to the touch. Monochromatic or multicolor, this design has high impact without being heavy. While it's unlikely to be finished in one day, students will have a complete understanding of all the information and skills to complete this design by the end of the day. Alternate instructions for a second version with outlined leaves and an adjustable woven leaf clasp fastener will be included.

A Wire Crochet Primer More of a wire person, but love those rivolis? Have a favorite shell or piece of beach glass you would like to make into a necklace or earrings? Learn how to bezel Swarovski rivolis, gemstone or dichroic glass cabochons, shells, stones or beach glass, using wire crochet. The flexibility of this technique works well for irregularly shaped stones. Once captured in wire crochet, these pieces can be used for earrings, as necklace pendants and in bracelets.

POUND, STAMP, BEND & BOLT WORKSHOP

This will not be a project driven class, but an opportunity for those with prior class experience to come and work with metal tools and their imagination. Not everyone has a variety of stamps and metal working tools, so come on and join us in this opportunity to use your imagination and my tools to create your one of a kind pieces. I will assist with design questions and help you personalize your pieces with ideas drawing from supplies available at Naturally Jennifer’s. Class space is limited, as are some tools. Bring if you have: House hold hammer, anvil or metal block, any metal stamps you may want to use, fine files, and metal hole punch. Also useful would be a fine point-marking pen & paper for taking notes or designing. All of these items will be supplied, and more, but some may need to be shared. Cost if class includes one kit with mixed metals to complete one project. Additional kits and supplies will be available for purchase the evening of the class.

Mixed Media Heart Pendant

Let’s have a play day and try something new. Learn a technique using concrete to make a whimsical heart shaped pendant to incorporate into your beading designs. We will run tubing through our heart for attaching wire. We will sink bits and pieces into our hearts to bring out some interesting bits of color and textures.The second half of the day we will be experimenting with a wonderful new resin called “ICE RESIN”. We will be using it in bezels, painting it on paper, etc. Will also be making our own putty molds to pour resin into for unique charms from resin for adornments in jewelry or your mixed media work. The day will be packed full of fun and laughter while getting a lot of new information.The Pendant you started in the morning you will be taking home to finish at home with the skills you’ve learned the second half of the day! You should have at least three hearts made and ready for gift giving. The holidays are just around the corner!

Celestial Necklace

Autumn Dreams

A trio of oak leaves join to form a triangular centerpiece, accented with three charming beadwoven acorns. The sculptural leaves are formed with a unique variation of herringbone/Ndebele stitch combined with peyote stitch. 'Memoires du Maroc'

The photograph is far from capturing the energy of elegance and sparkle created with all the Swarovski Crystals in this beautiful bracelet. Anja tells us that it was inspired by traveling through Morocco, experiencing the rich colors and shapes, especially present in the Middle-Eastern architecture, the multitude of merchandise, often handmade, and displays filled with colorful spices in the 'Souks' (Markets) of the 'Medina's' (Old Town Center).

Dealie Bobs

Come learn to make Dealie Bobs in this fun class. You start with a peyote strip that contains a pattern or not that is then sewn into a twisted geometrical shape. It looks hard, but it is easy once you know the trick. The shapes can also be embellished before you zip up the opening. These cubes can then be used as a fob for your scissors, a cell phone leash or just placed in a pretty bowl.

Dream Beach Bracelet

The Dream Beach Bracelet starts with a simple base of right angle weave and is shaded using 3 colors, browns/oranges, whites/creams and blues. Basic Metal Stamping

Personalized jewelry and mixed metals are all the craze! This class is fun and easy and makes great gifts for you or your loved ones! YOU WILL LEARN some basic Metal Smithing techniques, names of tools, their uses, how to design your piece and how to correct errors. We will be using a “wire” style rivet connection and a demonstration on tube riveting will be shown, along with texturizing and dapping. To finish off your creation, we will oxidize your piece and examples of alternative methods will be explained. Herringbone Beaded Beads

In this class, you will see different variations of beaded beads and pendants that can be made with the herringbone 3-cable. Explicit instructions will be provided for the Herringbone Lantern beaded bead, but students will be encouraged to try other designs for beaded beads, pendants and earrings shown in the pattern, with the instructor's help, of course.

Herringbone Toggle Clasp and Cable

Herringbone is a classic bead weave that is very versatile. Typically, herringbone is woven with an even number of columns of beads. This Herringbone Toggle pattern shows how to weave just 3 columns to produce a neat and narrow cable of seed beads. We show how to add larger beads into the weave, captured and outlined by the 3 columns. By creating angles at the larger beads, we can close a piece of cable into a square to make the loop for a toggle clasp. You can weave the toggle directly into a necklace, or add a flat strip of herringbone with just 2 columns captures a jump ring, to finish the clasp. The underlying herringbone pattern is very regular, and can be repeated to make triangles, squares, pentagons, and so forth, in any size. You can also weave long lengths of the herringbone 3-cable into necklaces and bracelets. The pattern gives detailed instructions for the straight cable with captured gems and both parts of the toggle clasp.

Double Flower Lariat

These fuchsia-like blossoms are worked in a tubular swirling combination of stitches. Stamens tipped with sparkling crystals hang from their centers. The lariat is woven with Leslie's variation of the tubular Ndebele technique, which creates an attractive dimensional, spiraling surface. At each end of the lariat a calyx is formed and added to the back of the flower. Length can vary as desired.

The Barrel Beaded Bead is a little over an inch long, with a hole wide enough to accommodate a chain over an eighth of an inch thick. Seed beads are used as netting surrounding larger beads, resulting in a shiny conversation piece of a bead. The class is aimed at intermediate beaders.

Infinity Prisms Beaded Cubes and Captured Gems

Infinity Weave is a new technique that is similar to an embellished version of right angle weave, yet it is remarkably rigid, so is a great weave for beaded beads. Each Infinity Prism uses seed beads in two or three sizes, and tiny drop beads can also embellish the surface. The Infinity Prism is remarkably amenable to changes in bead sizes, so you can use a variety of different size beads to create different shapes, all with the same pattern. Diagrams are included for several variations. You can also capture rivolis, coins, and other round beads, and even make a bracelet. Since cubes are prisms, this pattern also provides a background discussion on basic beaded cubes and easy beaded prisms, including 62 photos and illustrations.

Cutie Pie Earrings

You can make Cutie Pie earrings using GwenOs original technique called Double Outline Stitch. Use seed beads to outline fancy beads and add wire components to finish. You can use a variety of differnt sizes and shapes for the largest beads inside the windows. You can even use 2 or 3 rondel beads inside the window, or make links for long dangling earrings. Use metallic seed beads and gemstones to make your earrings especially glamorous. In class, you will learn to make your own ear wires. The pattern is 8 pages, shows 12 different pairs of earrings and one necklace, and includes 27 illustrations and photographs.

Seven Sisters Pendant

The Seven Sisters Bead Cluster resembles a glistening glass chrysanthemum. This design incorporates a variety of stitches in uncommon combinations to deliver a radially symmetric cluster of beads. A web of beads on the back allows you to add a cord or chain to the finished cluster and wear it as a pendant. Add a pin back and it becomes a broach, a hair clip lets it adorn your hair. The pattern has 13 pages and 26 color illustrations and photographs.

Using peyote stitch, the student will make frilly seed bead components which are strung to form a bracelet. Additionally, crystals and beads can be strung on the bracelet to make it as casual or as dressy as you want your piece to be.

Wow, this class gets creative with rivolis. In this class various sized rivolis will be encased in seed beads and then decorated to the beader's heart's content. These sparkly dangles can be used in necklaces, keychains, as adornment in your hair, on your purse or in your car, wherever you want to have a little bling!!

In this class the student will learn how to make jump rings. After your jump rings are made, you will be joining them to create a beautiful chain maille necklace with pearl drops (or whichever type drops you like!).

Explore a variety of links, decorative elements and techniques. Increase your skills, using the basic tools to create new shapes. Practice twisting wire to increase visual interest in your work. Add dimension, using liver of sulfur to give it a beautiful aged patina.

Wire in Color – a Sculptural Necklace Intermediate/advanced wire working class Pre-requisite beginning wire work PLUS 1 -2 additional classes Start by building an armature, this serves as the base for springs, coils, scrolls and shells we will make with colorful enameled wire. Beads and other embellishments will be combined in a free-form approach, adding various elements until the result is pleasing to your eye. Complete the piece with a hand forged chain and custom clasp.

Kepler Star net Bracelet

Kepler's Star is a very easy flat weave that is can be used to make wide bracelets and necklaces. This pattern is suitable for beginner beaders but there are enough variations to please even advanced weavers. This weave can be made any width by adding more rows, or you can use large or small seed beads, but even larger beads can also be incorporated. Kepler's Star sews up much faster than other common flat weaves such as peyote stitch or herringbone so that you can finish a bracelet in a single day. In class, you will learn several variations, including two ways to add a clasp.

Almond Drop Bracelet and Earrings

The Almond Drops pattern uses the lace overlay technique that is used in the Double Rose Window and the Sea Star pattern. A finished bracelet with 6 drops measures about 7.5 inches, while a finished bracelet with 5 drops measures about 6.5 inches. The earrings dangle 1.5 inches below the bottom of the ear wire. In this class, you will learn how to make both the bracelet and the earrings. This pattern has been popular around the shop!!

Infinity Weave two (Donut)

Many geometric shapes are possible with Infinity Weave, including the Infinity Donut. The Infinity Donut is a rigid lacework of beads, using seed beads and tiny drop beads. This class is suitable for advanced beaders, and you must have taken the Infinity Dodecahedron class before you take the Infinity Donut class.

Infinity Weave one (Dodecahedron)

This class starts with a beginner’s lesson on the basic beaded dodecahedron with 30 beads. Next, you will make the Dodecagon Infinity Bead, a hollow lacework of beads with 12 pentagonal holes wide enough to see through. The instructions will carefully guide you through the steps for weaving a layer of beaded lace that curls into a ball. Before closing the ball, you can add a large rattle bead. Then, you bead a second layer to buttress the corners and make them rigid. You can easily scale the bead sizes with Infinity Weave. The basic weave uses beads in 2 sizes, but you can also use drops beads. This class is suitable for intermediate beaders.

Learn ways to make your work curve, swish and sway. With these techniques, you transform flat peyote strips into lush decoration that evokes organic growth and maybe even alien life! Each time I have taught this class, students invent their own variations on the stitch---an empowering experience.

Time Machine

Dragon Tears Lariat

In this class, you will use tubular peyote stitch, increasing to shape the beadwork perfectly to a large tear drop. A transition from one stitch to another will be learned to create the strap. Various embellishing techniques will be the finale to create this beautiful bracelet.

Beautiful three dimensional shapes reminiscent of the exotic Venus Flytrap adorn this intriguing, heavily patterned piece. A rivoli, using a technique that turns it into a cab, hides a secure clasp for this show stopping bracelet.
